Hohwacht Observation Tower
At 780 meters above sea level, the Hohwacht was a significant signal station up to the year 1798. Day or night, the network of watch towers could send an alarm through the entire canton in a matter of 3 to 4 hours using fire signals.
The climb to the top of the observation tower (20 m) is rewarded with a majestic view of the Aare valley, Jura mountains and the Alps. A display board identifies 150 mountain peaks.
